Default Asus G73JH PSOD

Hi,

I am currently based in India and had bought an Asus G73JH-A1 from BtoTech via a cousin based in the US (order # 1270530885).

I had been getting random BSODs for a few months (bugcode_usb_driver) but the frequency was not blocking me. In the past few weeks, I also started getting complete shutdowns (unable to restart for 5 min) after 10 minutes or so of running a graphically intensive application. And yesterday my screen died with a PSOD.

So I'd like to figure out what exactly to do now. I have the 3 year global warranty so I wanted to know if it might be worth getting things sorted with Asus here in India. A few forum posts about Asus service centres recommended shipping the laptop to BtoTech. If so, what sort of shipping costs would be covered under the warranty? And based on the issues mentioned above, how much time do you estimate for the repairs?

Hope you can help me out. Thanks!

-Girish.

Hi,

No. I have the stock Bios and VBios that came with the laptop. If I need to flash them, where can I find the latest versions?

I'm using Avast Free (v6.0.1367).

Ok, done. Just flashed the bios (213 from Asus support) and vbios (as mentioned in the previous post). PSOD still exists (see attached photo). Tried connecting a second monitor via the VGA cable and that seems to work normally. So, it is just the laptop screen that is messed up.
